Ahead of their clash at Sampdoria, the Milan coach insisted: "The match with Roma has given us positive feelings because it wasn't the same as those against Empoli or Catania, we certainly played better - as we did against Shakhtar.
"The result has unfortunately penalized our performance. But while we're facing a difficult game, we must not panic. We know that this period will pass."
Milan president Silvio Berlusconi believes Ancelotti's players are overstretched and should be "sleeping rather training".
Ancelotti added: "The president has referred to the fact that when playing every three days, it is more important to focus on recovery than actual training, which is what we're doing.
"We always evaluate the condition of the players after games, following their diet and rest. It is a job we've been doing for many years to try to get the best recovery from them."
