Amorim settles on Liverpool after rejecting four past Prem offers

Liverpool are closing in on appointing a new manager for the coming season.

The Reds are set to lose long-serving head coach Jurgen Klopp, who is taking a sabbatical from the sport.

Per Sky Germany, a deal is agreed with Ruben Amorim of Sporting CP to take over in the summer.

The Portuguese has a preliminary deal with the Anfield club, but the agreement is not finalized.

Meanwhile, it's been revealed Amorim has in the past rejected four Premier League clubs - Aston Villa, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United.

Amorim said last week: "No, I can't guarantee [I'll stay]. I gave my word and I can't go back on it. If we don't win titles, I'll leave Sporting.

“It was clear from the start, it was the bet I passed on to the players. We have to win titles," he said about his future recently.

The Reds have also been linked to managers such as Thiago Motta and Simone Inzaghi in recent weeks.
