Shola Ameobi has urged Newcastle United fans to look on the bright side.
Ameobi struck a potential farewell goal in victory over Cardiff City.
"The fans are entitled to their opinion and aren't going to be happy when you lose six in a row. There's no escaping that reality.
"But let's not forget we're in ninth position and I think that's been overshadowed a bit.
"It's unfortunate we've had this run but you have to look at the bigger picture. I know the manager is.
"If you look at those teams ahead of us with the money spent, it's not as bad as it seems."
