Schoolboy Nathan Redmond was added to Birmingham City's first team squad for yesterday's 2-2 draw with Everton.
Redmond, 16, only made his reserve-team debut last week and was added to the 19-man squad for the Premiership clash.
Redmond, who has been issued with the number 34, is a winger in the mould of Aaron Lennon or Shaun Wright-Phillips, according to Brum youth chief Terry Westley.
"We're very fortunate to have someone of his ability at our club," he told bcfc.com.
"He's an out and winger.
"Although he's not physically big, he's a tough boy and is of the mould of Aaron Lennon or Shaun Wright-Phillips
"He's speedy and a good dribbler, but he still needs to improve on the end product and the amount of goals he scores.
"But this is a pat on the back for him and the people that have worked with him
"It's now down to him to really knuckle down and work hard over the next two years to really fulfil the potential he clearly has."
