Aloisi's form good enough for Australia - Sydney's Brosque

Sydney FC striker Alex Brosque believes the recent form of his more experienced strike partner John Aloisi is good enough for the Australian national team.

Brosque himself forced his way back into Socceroos contention this term with some brilliant form, especially in the middle of the season, and he believes that 34-year old Aloisi can gain a recall to Pim Verbeek's squad ahead of the World Cup which kicks off in June .

"The way he's been playing, why not?" Brosque said at the A-League finals series launch in Sydney on Monday.

"He's been excellent and if for games like this players are picked on form then I think Johnny would have to be a shot.

"He's playing well, he's scored a fair few goals in the last few weeks so I don't see why not."

Of his own chances, Brosque remained hopeful following his inclusion in the Asian Cup qualifying squad for the match against Kuwait last month (he did not play due to a groin strain).

"I hope that I do get the chance because last game was disappointing and looking from that camp on, it seemed like it would be my only chance," Brosque said.

"I'm hoping I'll get a chance this game and with Archie (Thompson) out.

"It's a disappointing that the door's closed for him but hopefully it opens for me and gives me a chance which I hope I can take."
