Almiron determined to prove his worth to Newcastle

Miguel Almiron is determined to stay with Newcastle.

Almiron started from the outset in the back-to-back defeats against Chelsea and Everton before being picked over Jacob Murphy when Fraser was injured early against Wolves last week. The attacker is facing questions surrounding his future at present with a big summer clear out expected on Tyneside this summer.

"It was unfortunate that our team-mate Ryan got injured but then despite those circumstances I was pleased to be able to help the lads out. I believe that you simply have to always be ready to that. Whenever you chance comes, either as a substitute from the bench or in the starting XI from the outset," he told NUFCTV.

"The truth is that I always put in the hard graft in training so I can be ready for when I get my opportunity. It's been perhaps a little tough for me because throughout the season I've not had the chance to be featuring regularly, but that is all part and parcel of the game. Like I said, you just have to focus on making sure that you are ready, that you are training hard, wherever you find yourself at any given moment.

"Lately I've been having to start games on the bench, and from there it's still all about offering all the support I can to the team, and the rest of my teammates. We've got some great players here at Newcastle, and whenever it's my turn to either start or to come on as a substitute it's all about trying to bring everything I can offer from my game in order to help the team out."
