AC Milan boss Max Allegri was delighted with his new boys in their 2-1 Coppa Italia victory over Sampdoria.
Urby Emanuelson and Mark van Bommel both saw action in the victory.
"It was important for us to get through this round and reach the semi-final," said Allegri.
"We played an excellent first half and could've sealed qualification before the break, but then we conceded and it was only normal that Samp would pour forward to complete the comeback.
"We defended in an organised manner and were able to do things properly."
