Allardyce revolution continues as Everton topple Swansea

Everton made it 4 wins out of 5 games after they defeated Swansea 3-1 at Goodison Park on Monday night.

Paul Clement's side, desperate for a win, opened the scoring through Leroy Fer.

But their joy was spoiled at the end of the half when Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored an equaliser.

Heartbreakingly for Swans fans, their former star, Gylfi Sigurdsson, scored a typically stunning goal to put the Toffees ahead with just over 25 minutes left.

Wayne Rooney then converted from the spot on the 73rd minute mark to put the game out of reach for Swansea.

The Welsh club are now rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table while Everton move into ninth.

Speaking after the game, Toffees boss Sam Allardyce said: "I think from our point of view it was a disappointing first half and we needed more in the second half. They switched off for the goal. We got a penalty, we scored it and Domimic Calvert-Lewin did brilliantly We changed the system and the way we wanted to push up and get at their back four.

"We put Tom Davies on and got further forward. Then in games you need something special and Gylfi provided that. From there it was nice and comfortable.

"It is a great three points considering how poorly we played in the first half. We played a little bit negative, instead of being brave enough to pass it forward. That happened int he second half and we were more creative. We were too negative in the first half."
