Liverpool legend John Aldridge believes victory at Manchester United will mark their title credentials.
Aldridge wrote in the Sunday World: "There is every possibility that Liverpool will go through the rest of the Premier League season unbeaten - and that could give them a real chance of being crowned champions.
"While I remain uncertain that Brendan Rodgers's men have what it takes to eradicate the defensive mistakes that have littered this otherwise superb season, Reds fans have every right to be excited when they look at the table and see Liverpool sitting in second place with 10 games to go.
"Last weekend's 3-0 win at Southampton was another massive statement of intent from Liverpool and if they can go to Old Trafford next weekend and pick up another three points, even the non-believers will have to start taking this title challenge seriously."
