Toby Alderweireld is full of praise for new Tottenham teammate Steven Bergwijn.

The new signing from PSV Eindhoven scored on debut in victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

Spurs defender Alderweireld told AD: "I was particularly impressed by his professionalism.

"Sometimes you have guys who excel in the Netherlands and then start here very naively. Steven is very sober, there is a very good head on him.

"I don't know him that well yet, but you notice that he wants to work very hard.

"He showed that he can handle the level. We have a very positive group. If you behave normally, you belong immediately.

"He will notice that playing in the Premier League is different from playing in the Eredivisie."
