Former Chelsea midfielder Alan Hudson was key to Frank Lampard moving to Stamford Bridge 14 years ago.

Lampard will play his final Premier League game today with Manchester City against Southampton.

The Mail on Sunday says Hudson was the middle man who took Lampard from West Ham United to Chelsea.

Hudson says Lampard was on the brink of joining Leeds United in 2001 from West Ham before he brokered a deal via contacts which saw the then-young midfielder join the Blues.
