Alan Curtis accepts new role at Swansea

Alan Curtis has been handed a new role at Swansea City.

Curtis will remain with Swansea City after accepting the role of Loan Player Manager at the Liberty Stadium.

The 62-year-old lost his position as first-team coach following Paul Clement's arrival earlier this week, discovering his demotion via a text message from chairman Huw Jenkins.

"I'm delighted to take up the new role," said Curtis, who was in caretaker charge of the first team for Tuesday's crucial Premier League victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

""There has definitely been a gap at the club in this area for some time and I'm really looking forward to filling it to the best of my ability.

"It was an opportunity I jumped at following very amicable discussions. It's a very important role and one that excites me.

"It's great to continue my involvement with the club, but the priority is for everyone to concentrate on the rest of the season and secure our Premier League status again.''
