UAE Pro League club Al Wahda reportedly have a deal in place for New York Red Bulls star Tim Cahill.
Abu Dhabi publication The National suggests that the 35-year old Australia international could soon be on his way to the Persian Gulf after spending the past two-and-a-half years in MLS.
An anonymous source from Al Wahda told The National: "Cahill's performance at the Asian Cup and the World Cup last year has really caught the eye of the Wahda top management and we can say a tentative deal is in place.
"There is nothing formal yet though and we will have to wait until the end of the Asian Cup before a formal deal is signed."
Coincidentally, the Everton great is preparing for the Socceroos' Asian Cup semi-final which takes place against the UAE in Newcastle on 8pm, Tuesday night AEDT.
The winner of the final four fixture will play South Korea in the final of Asia's showcase tournament in Sydney on January 31 while the loser will contest the third-place play-off with Iraq on Friday.
