Al Rayyan are pushing to sign Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz.

AS says the Qataris are eager to ferry Mariano away from Europe - but without having to pay a fee.

Al Rayyan would be willing to better Mariano's current €4m salary to convince him about the move.

Al Rayyan have been eager to sign a high level No9 since last summer.

They had contacted Atletico Nadrid striker Diego Costa and Juventus' Mario Mandzukic, but in both cases the negotiations did not come to fruition.
