Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has chosen to leave European football.

The Dutchman will be signing with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq, where he will play under Steven Gerrard.

Per Fabrizio Romano, the deal is all but done and Wijnaldum will have a medical in Saudi.

The midfielder was on loan at Roma under Jose Mourinho last term, but they chose not to bring him back.

PSG are not interested in keeping Wijnaldum in the first team, as they are going in a different direction with their squad building.

The Saudis, meanwhile, are delighted to get another big name to join their Pro League.
