Departing Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro has admitted regret not ending his career with Napoli.

Cannavaro has agreed to a lucrative move to UAE's Al Ahli after the World Cup.

"I would have gone there for free but there was not even any negotiations," Cannavaro told Chi magazine.

"It's hard to believe, the fans don't understand it either but Napoli simply did not want me.

"I really wanted to go back and I was sending messages for a long time but no one picked up on it."
