Former Vancouver Whitecaps defender Mouloud Akloul has revealed he had 'big problems' with head coach Tom Soehn prior to his release.
The 28-year old French defender was waived by the Whitecaps in late July after playing under Soehn, who took over from Teitur Thordarson in May, for about a month.
Akloul has indicated that his relationship with Soehn, then director of soccer, deteriorated in January when he signed a contract proposal that was showing less of a salary than agreed upon.
"It's simple, I had big problems with the coach," read a translated excerpt from an article on mls-news.fr.
"He came to say hello and I threw him: 'Ah, now you have me?'" he added.
Regardless of what occurred, Soehn was not prepared to comment fully on the situation when quizzed by the Vancouver Sun.
"He's no longer in the picture so what we look at is the guys we have and then move forward with what we have," he said.
