Newcastle United have a deal in place for Ajax midfielder Vurnon Anita.

The Daily Mail says Newcastle have reached agreement with Ajax over a £6.2million deal for Dutch international Anita.

He was a key part of Ajax's title-winning side last season and coach Frank de Boer was keen to keep hold of him, having seen captain Jan Vertonghen already depart the club for Tottenham.

Anita made his farewell appearance for Ajax on Sunday against AZ Alkmaar and is due for a medical at Newcastle on Monday.
