Ajax are confident of not losing Marco van Basten to AC Milan.

David Endt, the team manager of Ajax, said: "I do not believe that Van Basten will be the next coach of Milan.

"I am more than confident that he will remain with us, he has signed a contract for four years.

"He wants to build something important with Ajax and not go to Milan even if it were Silvio Berlusconi himself who called him. The problem of Italian football is their failure to adapt to new forms of world football, the stadiums, also, are not adequate."
