Ajax are in talks with Real Madrid for Martin Odegaard.

The midfielder is starring on-loan with Vitesse Arnhem this season and Ajax see him as a replacement for the Barcelona bound Frenkie de Jong.

De Telegraaf says Ajax chief Marc Overmars has approached Real to discuss terms for Odegaard, with a willingness to offer €20m.

Former Ajax star Thulani Serero, meanwhile, is a fan and has backed Ajax's move for Odegaard.

The South African said: "If I was Ajax I would try to sign him, because Martin is a great footballer."
