Ajax chief Danny Blind is confident they can secure Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to a new contract.

Huntelaar has been linked with Real Madrid and Arsenal in recent days, but Blind says: "Behind the scenes there is always contact with the agent of Huntelaar, Arnold Oosterveer.

"We still have the intention to agree a longer contract.

"It was our intention to sit around the table within the next few weeks, but the focus is now of course on his recovery."
