Ajax manager Frank de Boer has revealed that Luis Suarez sometimes does stupid things in the heat of the moment.
The Dutchman coached the Uruguayan in Amsterdam when Martin Jol was in charge prior to his move to Liverpool and suggests that his decision to not shake Manchester United defender Patrice Evra's hand on Saturday was a poor choice.
"Outside the pitch he's a fantastic player and person.
"In the game he does everything to win but sometimes he does some stupid things.
"I don't really know the details of what happened in that (Saturday's) game so I can't comment.
"But I don't think it was very smart that he didn't shake Evra's hand because it puts more attention on everything.""Luis is a winner," he said.
