Middlesbrough caretaker coach Steve Agnew wants his players to show confidence as they fight for their Premier League survival.

Boro lost 4-2 to Hull City last night which has them languishing in 19th position on the table, seven points from safety with eight fixtures remaining.

He told Sky Sports: "We have to be [confident of survival].

"It's a home game against Burnley [next].

"The players are disappointed tonight but once we're back in training tomorrow we'll all be in a positive frame of mind."
