Agger frustrated but calm on Liverpool future

Daniel Agger admits he is frustrated by his current situation at Liverpool but will not worry about what the future holds until after his summer holidays.

The 29-year old Danish centre-back missed some of the Reds' biggest games last season, featuring just 20 times in the Premier League, as he fell behind Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure at times throughout the campaign.

Although Agger suggests he did have an unsatisfying season personally under Brendan Rodgers, he will put his frustrations to the side in order to enjoy a relaxing vacation away from the game before pondering what's next.

"It definitely wasn't great. But I don't make the decisions. I think it is because the manager doesn't think that I'm good enough," he told Ekstra Bladet.

"I don't know. That's up to the manager. I can't go and put myself on the team sheet."

Of the fact he made be Liverpool's third-choice centre-back, Agger replied: "No, I'm no one's third choice.

"I'm not thinking about my future. Now my focus is on the next international games with Denmark and then I'm looking forward to a long five-week holiday.

"My body and my mind needs to relax."
