Agents' fees saw Everton striker Oumar Niasse's move to Crystal Palace fall through.
The Daily Mail says Niasse travelled to central London on deadline day after the two clubs had reached an agreement on the transfer fee, but the striker joins Ross Barkley in heading back to Merseyside as a result of failed negotiations.
Palace were confident they would add Niasse, who has scored five goals in 26 games for Everton and Hull during his time in England, but the striker will not be moving to Selhurst Park this summer.
A deal sheet was submitted before the 11pm deadline to allow Palace two additional hours until 1am on Friday morning to submit the full paperwork.
But while in London, Palace representatives could not agree a fee with Niasse's agent, scuppering any hopes of the transfer going through.
