Agent Furio Valcareggi has slammed Giampiero Ventura for his decision to quit Chievo Verona.

Ventura lasted only weeks before walking out after a draw with Bologna.

Valcareggi said, “After Delio Rossi slapped Adem Ljajic on the Fiorentina bench, I thought I'd seen it all, and yet… As soon as the final whistle blew against Bologna, Ventura announced he wouldn't come back to training.

“When Chievo call, you know it's a fight to avoid relegation. I know Ventura very well and in his career, the only trophies he ever won were in Serie B.

“If Ventura were to go down with Chievo, it wouldn't be a disaster, unlike what happened with him in charge of Italy. Yet every day Ventura would threaten to walk away from Chievo, so I ask myself why did he go there in the first place?

“I don't know what Ventura wants to do next, but I don't see who would hire him now. Maybe in China, but even that seems unlikely."
