The agent of Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago has played down interest from Liverpool.

The Reds were linked with the Argentina international in Sunday's press.

But Zoran Vekic told Calciomercato.it: "As for Gago, I can say that at the moment it is just speculation. I guess there is some interest.

"To be more precise, we must still wait for the next few weeks, when we will know his situation better."
