Agent of Spurs fullback Udogie: Serie A clubs lack courage to buy young players

The agent of Tottenham wing-back Destiny Udogie has revealed Italy's biggest clubs wanted him last season.

Udogie signed for Spurs 18 months ago before spending last season on-loan with Udinese.

The 20-year-old's agent Stefano Antonelli admits Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan showed interest before the transfer to Tottenham.

"If there is one limitation that Italian clubs still cannot overcome today, it is the courage to invest. I invite anyone and I challenge anyone to tell me which Italian club did not want Udogie. They all wanted him, but at that stage only Gino Pozzo at Udinese was ready to accelerate," he told TMW.

"He signed him for 2.8 million euros and sold him after ten months for 26 million euros. We talked with Juventus, with Milan, with Inter... Everyone liked Destiny, everyone wanted him but at that moment there was not the drive to define this operation. We don't invest in Italians."
