The agent of River Plate midfielder Exequiel Palacios has confirmed a move to Real Madrid is close to being struck.

Renati Corsi doesn't expect Palacios to move to Madrid until next summer.

"What we have said to the people at Madrid is that they buy [Palacios] and leave him here [in River] for six months," he stated.

"The boy has many possibilities, such as playing in the Libertadores final against Boca and winning would bring the Club World Cup.

"From there he could go to the Copa America; he needs minutes.

"Having played all of that, he would arrive in Madrid in June and would be there to stay.

"If he comes in January, he would arrive in the middle of the season and we would like to start from scratch."
