Agent Stefano Antonelli says Mateo Guendouzi joined Lazio due to Maurizio Sarri.

The former Arsenal midfielder joined Lazio in August from Olympique Marseille.

Antonelli told Sportitalia: "Lazio were looking for a replacement for (Sergej) Milinkovic-Savic, if we can say so. They explored multiple situations, Sarri had a fundamental role in identifying the various possible solutions.

"At a certain point I made this proposal which was evaluated very positively by the Biancocelesti.

"And I must be very sincere in saying that (president Claudio) Lotito was good at believing in it completely to make sure that everything went through."
