The agent of Liverpool fullback Andrea Dossena has revealed the interest of Roma.

Dossena has been put up for sale by Liverpool ahead of the January market.

Federico Pastorello said: "The interest on the part of (Roma coach) Claudio Ranieri has always been there, since the days he was with Juventus.

"In recent years we have had several offers, including from Napoli. Ranieri tried to take him to Juventus, so I would not be surprised if Roma tried for him.

"Dossena has characteristics that are pleasing to a coach. He needs to play if he wants to fulfill his dream of going to the World Cup."
