The agent of Everton attacker James McFadden has opened the door to Celtic to move for the Scotland hero.

Reports claim the 24-year-old striker has been targeted by the Scottish champions but would have to pay Everton at least £4million and around £20,000 a week in wages.

Celtic would also face stiff competition for the player's signature but his representative Willie McKay has given the Hoops hope that they could succeed in luring McFadden north of the border.

He told the Daily Record: "There would be a number of clubs interested in James if he were available for transfer.

"Everton themselves could be prepared to offer him a new deal but there is no doubt Celtic are close to James' heart."
