Bayer Leverkusen are keen on Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov. Bayer are still fondly remembered by Berbatov, and according to his representative Igor Dobrinov, the two parties have been in regular contact about the 30-year-old's possible return.
"The player has never forgotten Leverkusen, the club is still very dear to him. Furthermore, he has a good relationship with the leadership at Bayer," Dobrinov told BILD.
Leverkusen CEO Wolfgang Holzhauser was a little more cagey, although he did confirm that contact had been made.
"I would even say that the contact is friendly," he added.
"But there is certainly nothing concrete at the moment. I also read that Manchester United would like to extend his contract."
