The agent of Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio admits Roma tried to sign him as a teen.

Roma made the attempt when Asensio was still with Real Mallorca.

"It's true that the Giallorossi came looking for Asensio and were in negotiations for him before Real Madrid," agent Horacio Gaggioli told Il Romanista.

“I even went to Rome for face to face talks.

"I am pleased that (current Roma coach Eusebio) Di Francesco praised him, because I see Asensio the same way."
