Gabriel Agbonlahor is keen to sign a new contract with Aston Villa.

He said: "If I am playing well then things might happen and if a new contract is there I would be happy to sign it.

"That's not on my mind at the moment. The main thing is playing week-in, week-out and doing my best for Villa.

"The fans love a local player because you are like one of them. I've got a lot of respect for the fans and I think they have got the same for me."
