Former Aston Villa captain Gabby Agbonlahor says Liverpool should move to re-sign Philippe Coutinho - if he apologises.

Coutinho left Liverpool in 2018 to complete a "dream" move to Barcelona.

But his dream quickly turned to a nightmare as he was thrown on the scrapheap in Spain and sent out on loan to Bayern Munich.

"For me, I'd go out there and get Coutinho back, 100 per cent," Agbonlahor told Stadium Astro. "I'd probably say, you have to apologise for the way you left but come back.

"Because for me, he is what Liverpool are missing.

"Coutinho needs to be the main man in the team, and at Liverpool, he would be."
