Gabriel Agbonhalor wants to become a homegrown hero at Aston Villa.

"It is important for teams to have a player from their neighbourhood who has supported the club," said Agbonlahor, who has 22 goals for Villa since making his debut in March 2006.

"It means a lot coming from the area and being a fan.

"At Liverpool you have Gerrard, who is a local lad who has been playing for them all his career and is now in the England team."
