Former Aston Villa captain Gabby Agbonlahor has hit out at Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
Rodri has called for intervention from UEFA and FIFA to curb the mega spending of Saudi Pro League clubs.
But Agbonlahor told Football Insider: "Why would Uefa or Fifa step in when players go to Saudi Arabia? Should they do the same when players go to the Premier League for the money?
"How many players have left Spain, for example, to come to the Premier League before they even sign first-team contracts.
"I think it is a double standard if we try to crack down on Saudi Arabia when the Premier League does the same thing. Players come here because the money is better than in France, Italy, Germany and Spain. Saudi Arabia is doing the same with England now, and it is seen as a problem. It's up to the players."
