Dick Advocaat is expected to leave Sunderland at the end of the season.
The Sunday Mirror says Advocaat is unlikely to remain as boss next season, so Sunderland will soon have a new man at the helm even if their current leader steers them to safety.
Advocaat seems in no doubt he will achieve that survival aim, and said: "I am not afraid for my reputation. My career is mostly behind me - but I am convinced I will keep them up anyway."
Sunderland have just 26 points on board this season and Advocaat's first match in charge ended in a 1-0 defeat to West Ham.
