Loan talks between Portuguese club Benfica and Danish outfit Odense BK for Freddy Adu have been put on hold.
It is believed that negotiations have broken down for the moment and the 20-year old US international with remain in the Liga Sagres with Benfica.
Odense sporting director Kim Brink said that talks may continue down the track.
"He's still a very interesting player," the executive told Soccer365 on Tuesday morning. "We are following the situation, but for now there is nothing."
Adu has struggled for first team football with Benfica and was loaned out to French club AS Monaco last season.
