BBC Tees reports that Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah has handed in a transfer request, but manager Aitor Karanka can't possibly imagine the scenario.
It is believed that 27-year-old Adomah has lodged the request as he seeks a move away from the Riverside Stadium but Karanka is not convinced.
"I couldn't speak with the CEO, I can't imagine Albert has presented a transfer request," Karanka said.
"The numbers are on the table, he's played 82 games for me, he was the captain at Oldham, I have said many times how important he is for the team.
"I heard from him after the Oldham game and he was very proud to wear the armband, so for that reason I can't imagine him handing in a request."
The Ghana international has scored 18 goals in 98 games for Boro since joining from Bristol City in August 2013 for £1million.
