Adidas are behind Mesut Ozil's push to inherit the No10 shirt at Arsenal from released teammate Jack Wilshere.
The Daily Mail says the English midfielder's exit will see Ozil request the jersey ahead of the start of the new domestic season. As well as the tradition attached to the No 10 shirt, Ozil desire to wear the number from next season is driven by advertising purposes.
The Germany international already has a lucrative boot deal with sportswear giants adidas — but the firm believe the No 10 shirt is the most marketable a player can wear.
And given he already wears the number for Germany, being in possession of the jersey for Arsenal would make for greater synergy for the Ozil brand.
