Portsmouth boss Tony Adams admits he would've loved to have added former Arsenal teammate Martin Keown to his coaching staff.
He revealed to the Daily Mail: "When I was talking to Arsene (Wenger) the subject of Martin came up.
"He pointed out the differences between us and said he would be very useful to me here.
"When I was a player, Arsene said he could not ask for a better captain or a defender on a Saturday but then said I was hard work during the week. I wasn't switched on every day. I needed my down time, if you like. Martin, however, was up for it every day. And he was the same in the year he spent coaching at Arsenal. Arsene said he was great with the guys, driving them on every day.
"I spent three or four hours with Martin at his house in Oxford and it didn't happen. I think he likes the TV work. I tell you what the TV might do. It might kill a lot of coaching careers because they get on that sofa and it's a nice number. It's safe, whereas this is a tough job."
