Accrington Stanley have confirmed that they have parted ways with manager James Beattie.
The 36-year old former England international has left the League Two club by mutual consent after a poor start to the 2014-15 season.
Beattie joined Stanley as a player/coach in November 2012 before taking over the managerial job when replacing Leam Richardson in May 2013.
The former Southampton, Everton, Stoke City and Sheffield United striker said he was disappointed to be leaving the Crown Ground but suggested it was for the good of the club that he did.
"It is with a hugely heavy heart that I decided to end this journey," said Beattie.
"I can never fully repay the faith and backing I got from the players, my staff and of course the fans who always gave me 100%.
"I thank them from the bottom of my heart for granting me the opportunity and privilege to be part of your unique club."
