AC Milan striker Marco Borriello admits he enjoyed his best form while a Genoa player.
Milan kickoff the second-half of the season against Genoa this week.
"My experience with the Rossoblu was certainly the most important season of my career so far and I'll certainly have an emotional response when playing them," he confessed.
"Now I defend the Rossoneri colours and hope to bring home the victory for my squad."
In 2007-08 he scored 19 goals in 35 games for the Grifone and went close to the Capocannoniere title, but has barely played since then due to a succession of injuries.
"On a personal level, 2009 started terribly and ended fairly well with some good performances and my first goals.
"As a team we reached some important objectives, qualified for the Champions League knockouts and reached second place in Serie A. I'd say it's a good starting off point.
"The goal I scored against Parma was a particular highlight of 2009, as for a striker to score with a scissor-kick in front of the Milan end at San Siro is a dream come true.
"As for the rest, I didn't play nearly enough due to my injuries, as I practically only had eight weeks of fitness in the whole year.
"In 2010 I hope to be able to play five or six months consecutively and prove what I'm worth."
