Gonzalo Higuain has explained why he chose to join AC Milan ahead of Chelsea this week.
The former Juventus striker was unveiled to the local media today and addressed why he rejected Chelsea to sign with the Rossonero.
"The estimation I have for (Maurizio) Sarri is not new," Higuain said of Chelsea's new manager. "But the only person who wanted me at Chelsea was Sarri while here they all wanted me."
He continued: "Leonardo has convinced me, as well as (Rino) Gattuso, I have a lot of confidence in this team and last year I liked how he played, I've always played in teams that fight to win but also Milan is used to winning and I want to bring it back up.
"I want us to get as far as possible, I'm very happy to be here."
Asked if he will regret missing out on playing with former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo at Juve, Higuain replied: "I have already played with him ... No, not at all: I am very happy with this new challenge."
