The Brazil international is set to join Milan on a 12-month temporary transfer for £1.4 million with a permanent deal in the offing next summer for £4 million.
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has already discussed the proposal with Emerson's agent, Gilmar Veloz, and is set to approach Real this week.
