AC Milan outbid Barcelona for Arsenal's Adebayor

The Daily Express says sources in Italy claim AC Milan have made a bid of £28million for Adebayor, which is £4m more than Barcelona have offered, and are prepared to hand the striker a five-year deal worth £80,000 a week plus bonuses. But they insist they will not be held to ransom and are still interested in Barcelona's Ronaldinho.

Adebayor confirmed he will make a decision on his future next week after receiving Arsenal's new pay offer.

The Gunners look to be fighting a losing battle, as they are unlikely to meet hefty wage demands.
