AC Milan have deal in place for Sampdoria outcast Cassano

AC Milan are understood to have struck a deal for Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano. Yesterday, a tribunal ruled that Sampdoria could not terminate his contract, but the player will be suspended without pay until February 1 2011 and then see out the rest of his contract with halved wages.

It's claimed Milan struck terms with Cassano's agent Beppe Bozzo last night.

"I would not advise people to bet only on Cassano, as there are many very important players who could move in January, including overseas and across the English Channel," commented Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

"We are looking for a technically gifted player and Cassano fits that bill, but he is not the only one.

"Let us leave Cassano alone. He is a Samp player, while Ronaldinho is part of the Milan squad and will stay here."
