AC Milan are stepping up their push for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

Off contract in June, Giroud is weighing up his options, with Chelsea yet to make contact about talks over a new deal.

Milan have been in contact with Giroud in recent months and are now ready to firm up their interest after qualifying for next season's Champions League, says Le 10 Sport.

And for Giroud, the feeling is mutual.

No negotiations have been launched, though with Mario Mandzukic announcing his departure on Monday, Giroud's prospects of joining the Rossonero are now improving.
